A newly laid high shine marble floor looks absolutley beautiful, but unfortuantely over time the marble can loose its luxurious shine. So what can you do to re-polish your marble floors?
Unfortunaetly there's no easy fix. The only way to repolish a marble floor back to its original beauty is with a heavy duty marble polishing machine. The first thing we do, is to completely clean the floor and remove all contaminents. We do this with a machine and a heavy duty marble stripper. The idea behind this is to remove the build up of dirt, sealers and waxes from the marble surface. Once the marble is completely clean and free of contaminents the floor can be re-polished with a marble buffing machine.
We work on the floor in small areas, using wirewool buffer pads and K1 and K2 which are marble polishers. The machine is moved slowly from side to side until the floor returns to its original lustre. The most important step to remember is to go slowly, and not to over buff the floor, so that an even shine is produced over the entire floor.
Lastly it is very important that the marble is left properly sealed, in order for the shine to last as long as possible, and to give the floor some resitence to wear and tear. We would also urge all our customers to take care when cleaning their marble floors. Marble will quickly loose its shine when exposed to routine cleaning materials and waxes we commonly find in our homes. The best way for you to take care of your marble is to use a good quality stone soap when cleaning your marble. We would recommend stone soap from www.sealer-seal-sealant.co.uk
